I was reading an interesting lead article in Sunday Star Times last weekend, about our (soon to be ex) favourite TV evangelist Brian Tamaki receiving expensive goodies for speaking at churches in the USA. He was gifted an expensive top of the line motorbike worth at least $35,000, and has just come back from a luxury South Pacific Cruise paid for from the tithes of 20 Destiny churches.

Tony Wall from the Sunday Star Times reports the words of Bishop Eddie L Long of the New Birth Missionary Baptists Church in Atlanta said to be Tamaki’s "spiritual father" and mentor. In short Long promised that the Destiny Church would be “ruling New Zealand” before its tenth anniversary.

“That means you control the wealth, that means you control the riches, that means you control the politics, that means you control the social order, that means you are in charge.”

How very thoughtful of Long to spell out their plans so clearly for all to read.
