On June 22, 2008, Carlin was admitted to St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California after complaining of chest pain. He died later that day at 5:55 p.m. PDT of heart failure at the age of 71.
George Carlin has been performing for half a century. For five decades the Grammy award-winning comedian, actor, and author has been making audiences laugh and think with his salty, provocative style of stand-up comedy.
He was a brilliant man, incredibly hilarious and exceptionally adept and noting and describing the funniest sides of the good and bad quirks that humans have.
He will be greatly missed.
